Key Responsibilities The key accountability areas include:
  • Define Category Role , Category / customer/ competitor and vendor assessment, development of category strategy.
  • Development and implementation of concepts and models like Store Traffic Analysis, Basket Analysis and Dead Zone Analysis to improve basket penetration, store layout, category adjacencies and category placement in store
  • Development and rollout of the concept of trip types and trip missions with recommendations for assortment correction for increased top line and bill value.
  • Development of targeted dashboards for greater understanding and easier interpretation of data.
  • Benchmarking with competitors on key factors like store and company profitability, operational and capital expense heads, days of inventory and working capital, private label, loyalty sales and average bill value trends.
  • Implementation of Floor & Shelf planning (Plano grams) , Floor & Shelf Space Planning with respect to merchandising rules for FMCG, Commodity Food & other grocery products.
  • Category Process Re-engineering: Merchandise Hierarchy, Assortment & Space Planning. Price point Management, MBQ, depth width management.
  • Act as a consultant, management advisory and change agent to the business and demonstrate results.
  • Deliver best in Class GMRAOI and GM ROFS at subclass level by managing the assortment, promotions, placement etc.
Other Requirements The incumbent should be working with Retail / consulting firm in Managerial role specialized in Merchandising Analysis, High maturity levels, Market and customer orientation. Leadership having Business acumen, eye for detail and strategic approach etc.

  • Develops production schedules, monitor execution of operations; analyzes production performance and implement performance improvement initiatives; establish priorities and sequences.
  • Ensures achievement of production volume targets and costing targets.
  • Interprets safety policies, procedures and regulations; familiarizes direct reports and team members with this information.
  • Manages the in-production product inspections and audits; ensures adherence to quality standards.
  • Reviews production and operation reports; resolves operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to minimize cost and operational delays.

  • Preparing Quality Specifications and best practices for all F&V products to continuously improve quality standards & minimize customer complaints.
  • Enabling and implementation of robust Food Quality and Safety Movement across Retail & subsidiary divisions in order to achieve Sustained Quality & Safety.
  • Implementation of internally approved QA norms in Stores, SPHs', IPH etc.
  • Implementation of internally approved QA norms in clearance with specs for private label products.
  • Analyze & prepare progress reports on quality initiatives for management reporting.
  • Undertake initiatives for Process Standardization. SPH corrections of any concerns like sealing damages, fumigation corrections to ensure shelf life prescribed is survived, QA benchmarking with competitors on Quality and price. Regulatory compliances at SPH,DC and Stores .

  • Planning and sourcing of Fruits and Vegetables from different production belts in India based on the demand from wide spectrum Reliance fresh stores.
  • Forecasting- Sourcing Planning .
  • Identifying sourcing locations in AP and establishing collection centers in respective locations.
  • Monitoring the performance of collection centers – Indenting, Pricing, Logistics Management, Quality checks Etc
  • Monitoring the day to day distribution through improving the efficiency of operation in the supply chain.
  • Well experienced with handling fresh fruits and vegetables, the quality specifications of every entity, the storage parameters etc
  • Hands on experience with the day to day supply and demand scenario of the fruits and vegetables in a wholesale market and also at the field level
  • Conducted a sample survey in wholesale fruit and vegetable markets in AP and also in the leading chain of supermarkets
  • Interaction with Category team in regarding pricing, Promos, Quality aspects
