Milk causes asthma Milk does not cause asthma
Milk is not a cause of asthma; in fact milk is well down on the trigger list of asthma. The major triggers for asthma are infection, exercise, weather, cigarette smoke, pollution and temperature change. Foods and drinks, food additives and chemicals are low ranking triggers. Excluding foods such as milk from the diets of children can rob them of essential nutrients, which can lead to poor nutrition.
Milk causes mucus Milk does not cause mucus
Milk is only linked to mucus production in the case of true food allergy. The only way to check out a food allergy is through a carefully controlled elimination diet conducted by an allergy specialist or at an allergy clinic in a large hospital.
Desi ghee (buffalo or cow fats) is more nutritious than vanaspathi. Both desi ghee and vanaspathi have the same amount of fat and calories. A hundred grams of each has 100 gm of fat, giving energy of 900 kilocalories.
Goat's milk has higher protein content than cow or buffalo milk. Buffalo milk has the highest protein content (4.3 gm per 100gm), followed by goat's milk (3.3 gm per 100gm), and finally by cows milk (3.2gm per 100 gm).
Almonds have a higher protein content than groundnuts and are hence more nutritious. Groundnuts and soya beans have a higher protein content than almonds. While 100gm of almonds 20.8 gms of protein, 100gm of grounds have 23.5 gm, and 100gm of soya beans have 43.2 of protein.
Drinking orange juice is better for one's health than having an orange. Drinking orange juice is less beneficial than having an orange. When juice is taken out of the orange it losses fibre, which is very essential for the body.
Yoghurt is good for health as it has a high protein content. Yoghurt is not as healthy as it is assumed to be. One cup of whole milk yoghurt is concentrated cholesterol.
Bananas, grapes and cherries are more nutritious than dates. Of all these fruits, dates have the highest content of protein and iron. Dates are also high in fibre content
